I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

I Have Decided To Follow Jesus

Finally, thx God...I have finished my new Illustration for this song.
This is a charming hymn often sung during Sunday School. I wonder if there are any more hymns with melodies from India.

The world famous chorus ‘I have decided to follow Jesus’ was composed by a Garo Christian (a tribe in the North-Eastern part of India) probably during the early part of Christianity of the tribe (late 1800AD) when the American Baptist Missionaries were involved with the tribe.

The tune naturally suits the Garo cultural ethos and taste. But the composer is still unknown.

Lyrics: Attributed to an Indian prince
Music:
Folk melody from India, arr by Norman Johnson

I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

Though no one join me, still I will follow;
Though no one join me, still I will follow;
Though no one join me, still I will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

The world behind me, the cross before me
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

Thx God for this lovely Hymn song. I really like this song! This song from India, amazing! If you want to know the story behind this great song, check this out from: http://www.southasianconnection.com/articles/533/1/Indian-Origin-To-Song---I-Have-Decided-To-Follow-Jesus/Page1.html

The Powerful Benefits of Prayer

Ahh finally I have finished my illustration for today,hehehe hope you like it!

God speaks to us through His written word, the Bible. Christians speak to God through prayer.  Prayer is an important part of the Christian’s life; we pray in words and sometimes we pray in song.  Here are twenty important scripture quotes about prayer.

How Often Should We Pray

1 Corinthians 1:4 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus,
Ephesians 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
Philippians 1:3-4 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
Colossians 1:3 (KJV) We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing

How Should We Pray

Psalm 66:17 I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue.
Psalm 95:2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
1 Corinthians 14:15 What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

What Should We Pray For

Psalm 50:14-15 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High, and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
Psalm 118:25 Save us, we pray, O LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us success!
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they be secure who love you!
Romans 10:1 Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.
Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Who Should We Pray For

Romans 15:30 I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,
2 Corinthians 1:11 You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
James 5:13-14 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my Heart.

He lives - Jesus lives within our hearts. I Really Love this Hymn!
Let's Live For Jesus!

Jesus died and rose again! He died for us - to bring us into fellowship with God. He rose from the dead and now lives forever within the hearts of all Christian. To explain how we know? Not easy! Because it is an experience.

The Bible said, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalm 34:8"
You need to invite Jesus into your heart to live in and with you today. Just invite Him by asking!

"Jesus Christ, you are alive today. I need you and invite you into my life and heart. Come live within me and guide me to live my life for you. Amen."

What a glorious beginning as you put your trust in Jesus and take refuge in Him! Jesus will never fails you nor will He forsakes you. He will be with you always - your companion for life. Yes, He walks with you and talks with you along life's narrow way. Meditate on this great wonderful Christian hymn again and again until joy overflows in your spirit and you know that Jesus lives in you.
Let us stand up for Him today! Live for Jesus and Jesus alone!

Every Christian who abides in Him knows that we do not need to demonstrate the evidence and existence of God by evidence or argument. We know Him, the Savior of our soul.
We know that He is with us; guiding us through life journey and with this knowledge, we sing His song even when trials beset us.

What a glorious day it is to believe in Him! - to know that He walks beside us and converse with us every step of the way. To have His mighty hands guiding and shielding us from all attacks of the evil one and to know that we are safe under His everlasting arms.
I want to sing this song every morning; to walk into the new day in celebration of all that this truth meant. Let praise and adore Him for our Redeemer lives and cares deeply for us .

He Lives
Lyrics ~ Alfred H. Ackley, 1887 - 1960
Music ~ Alfred H. Ackley, 1887 - 1960

Stanza 1:
I serve a risen Saviour; He's in the world today.
I know that He is living, whatever men may say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him He's always near.

Chorus:
He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.
He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.

Stanza 2:
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary I never will despair.
I know that He is leading, thro' all the stormy blast;
The day of His appearing will come at last.

Stanza 3:
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian! Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.
